By August 9 Monica’s depressed mood was severe again and she was sleeping 11 to 20 hours a day.
Our best guess is that her gut slipped back toward dysbiosis. We didn’t keep to the high-fiber diet that helps transplanted microbes take hold, and atypical antipsychotics may themselves disrupt the gut microbiome. As her mood slipped, she took the stool we had left from April, on July 26, August 5 and August 11. Stool stored that long may not have survived, so we ordered fresh.
